What is GIPro + ATRE (Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator) ?

The GIpro is a Gear Indicator with built-in Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator. This combo unit is not only the most advanced Gear Indicator on the market, but also the best TRE device available for selected Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles.

Gear Indicators compute gear position from engine and wheel speed, while the GIpro reads the Gear Position Sensor directly. This is why the GIpro gives faster and more reliable readings under any conditions.

The built-in Advanced TRE improves part-throttle response in lower gears. It will also improve low end torque at full throttle and disable the speed limiter on certain bike models. By default this function is turned off, and can be activated by the touch of a button. ATRE combines all the benefits of different types of TRE available today, in one single unit.
ATRE is a Switchable + Remappable + Smart + Advanced TRE.

Auto Brightness Controller ensures that display brightness is always optimal. The sensitivity level can be even fine tuned if desired.

The GIpro works well with, or without other aftermarket electronics, such as the Power Commander and SpeedoHealer.

The unit installs in about 10 minutes on most bikes and works out of the box. No cumbersome learning process is involved.

Why do I need the GIPro + ATRE ?

1. I am always hunting for 7th gear when accelerating so this gear position indicator (GPI) is the perfect way to keep on top of which gear I am in at a glance.

2. The Advanced TRE is explained above better than I could ever explain it so I am getting 2 in 1 as I wanted both a GPI and ATRE on my bike.

Mounting and installing the GIPro + ATRE on my '08 SV650S ?

Click HERE for the actual installation instructions supplied with the GIPro

I found an old piece of thin gauge aluminum and cut it to an appropriate size. I then drilled a 1/4" hole in the bracket and painted it with 3 coats of black satin Krylon spray paint to match the inside of the fairing. I dilled a hole in the fairing and mounted it using a 6mm dome head fairing screw and a flat washer and nylock nut (see 'Mounting Plate' photo below).

I mounted the GIPro module to the bracket with supplied adhesive velco and routed the GIPro cable along the other existing bike cables on the left side of the frame and secured with supplied cable ties.

I then connected the GIPro harness into the existing wiring under the tank (see 'GPS Connector' photo below to identify the correct connector') and then spliced the red power wire to my alarm positive battery wire.

The actual install was completed in about 20 minutes including tidying up wiring. The Heal Tech GIPro w/ATRE has to be the easiest mod you will ever do on your SV.
