PROJECT # 6

Above - The kit as supplied by SW-Motech (everything you need to install)

Being that I do a great deal of touring and day trips and having such items as iPod, GPS, cell phone, etc I decided I needed some kind of auxilary power on my bike. Why you might ask ? Well all these items need charging and if staying in hotel/motel room I can charge these items but I decided I still need to be able to charge them if camping or just on the road. Be it for nothing else, having a fully charged cell phone for emergencies is a must in my opinion.

I decided on the Low Profile 12 Volt BMW Style Powerlet Socket as it comes in a kit with everything you need and for what I believe to be the clean and unobtrusive style of it. Finding a place to mount it proved to be the biggest obstacle as in general a sport bike does not have many ideal locations that are handy to use and relatively out of the direct weather such as rain. I did find an out the way spot to mount it on 2008 Suzuki SV650S, on the bracket just above and behind the R/H rider's foot peg.

Because one cannot find many devices in the USA with the Powerlet plug, I bought a Powerlet to Cigar/ASE adapter (shown below).
